Role Description
The Lead Caregiver will act in a dual role capacity, supporting both the office, caregivers, and clients with daily/operational needs. Duties will consist of meeting/greeting new clients and caregivers at introductions, covering caregivers' vacations and sick calls, mentoring and shadowing new caregivers, and supporting the Operations team with projects, as assigned. The position is full-time (40 hours per week). This is a great position for someone who likes some variety and spontaneity in their day.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Support & Supervise Caregivers
- Guide and mentor new or less experienced caregivers
- Answer questions or assist with issues during shifts
- Ensure team members follow the care plan properly
- Address and resolve conflicts or concerns within the caregiving team promptly and professionally
- Collaborate with the administrative team to address logistical and organizational aspects of caregiving services
2. Communicate with the Office & Clients’ Families
- Report changes in client condition or concerns to the care coordinator or supervisor
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with family members and clients
- Maintain open and transparent communication with clients, their families, and the caregiving team.
3. Maintain Accurate Documentation
- Ensure all required care notes are completed thoroughly and on time
- Assist others with proper note-taking if needed
- Confirm caregivers clock in/out properly
- Keep accurate records of client care activities, including daily logs, medication administration, and any incidents.
4. Ensure Quality of Care
- Monitor that the care plan is being followed
- Identify areas where care can be improved
- Step in if a caregiver is late, unavailable, or needs backup
- Conduct regular quality assurance checks to ensure that caregiving services align with established standards and regulations
- Ensure the safety and comfort of the client
5. Training & Support
- Help train new hires or provide hands-on shadowing
- Share best practices and offer encouragement to the team
6. Emergency Response
- Be prepared to handle urgent client issues
- Know the proper steps for reporting incidents or concerns
- Act as a point of contact for any issues or emergencies that may arise during the caregiving process.
7. Technology Skills
- Experience with Google Workspace
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with scheduling or care apps
- Basic Canva skills for creating visuals, reports, or documentation

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a State-approved CNA program or currently maintains CNA license
- Currently hold a CNA/HHA license in Massachusetts
- Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
- Maintain professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
